Consider an Ozark bed and breakfast for your lodging when vacationing in Missouri. Ozark, MO is a fast growing community only 15 minutes from Springfield and 20 minutes from Branson, making it a great hub for vacation travel between the two.
A visit to Lambert’s Cafe II, “the one and only home of throwed rolls”, on the corner of Highway 65 is a must. The rolls are made from scratch and baked fresh all day, every day. Lambert’s is also known for their “pass arounds” of onion fried potatoes, fried okra, macaroni and tomatoes, and black-eyed peas free with any meal.
It is a short drive south to Branson for its live performance theaters, museums, and other tourist attractions, and you can still be back to your room in a member of the Bed and Breakfast Inns of Missouri for a relaxing evening and a good night’s sleep before heading out again.
Drive a few minutes north to Springfield, the third-largest city in Missouri. Springfield is recognized as the birthplace of Route 66, the “ Mother Road”. Some of the attractions include the Air and Military Museum of the Ozarks, the Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium, the Railroad Historical Museum, and Dickerson Park Zoo. Perhaps you may be interested in America’s only ride-through cave, Fantastic Caverns. The site where the nation’s first recorded shootout occurred and helped solidify the reputation of Wild Bill Hickok is in Springfield.
