GUEST ROOMS

Each of the unique guest rooms are individually decorated with an eclectic collection of furniture and pieces from around the world as well as family heirlooms.  All rooms have a TV except the Rose Room which can use the TV in the lounge across the hall.  The Rose and Butterfly Rooms share a bath across the hall (housecoats provided).

THE BUTTERFLY ROOM

The Brass bed, Chinese noodle cart, and the Korean Chests came from the far east. Most of our furniture from abroad is teak. The Camel Saddle Footstool is made of rose wood and came from Pakistan. We purchased the Flokati Carpet in Athens, Greece. The hand tied tribal Carpet came from Saudi Arabia. The Old fashion rocking chair was given to us by Joyce's parents. This chair was originally in Minnesota and some have said they believe it to be a lambing chair. (A chair left in the barn to be used in lambing season.) The fire place with gas logs lends to the Romantic atmosphere.

THE ROSE ROOM

The antique dresser has come to us through Ed's Great Aunt Molly. The brass washstand and accessories were made in Italy. The large hand-tied Hereke carpet at the foot of the bed we purchased in Turkey. The secretary-desk came from Illinois and had been painted before we had it restored. The antique swing-away curtain rods were original with the house. The hand crocheted spread was purchased on one of our trips to Hong Kong and the hand carved teakwood screen was crafted in India. The beads hanging over the picture above the bed belonged to Joyce's Grandmother Somers. You will find the Queen sized bed to be very comfortable and the room as warm as it looks.

The Celestial Room

This spacious room has a private bath (shower only).

Somer's Room

This is our third floor suite.   It has double and Queen beds, and available roll-away to accomodate a family of five.  The private bath has a tub only.  It makes a very private lofty "honeymoon setting" and meets almost any need.
